FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Iberia Film Festival new date: November 14, 2020
The Iberia Film Festival (IFF) has announced a new date for the Third Annual festival. The festival will now be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at the Iberia Performing Arts League's Essanee Theater in downtown New Iberia, LA.
The 2020 edition of the festival was originally scheduled for August 1, 2020, but is being postponed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The health and safety of our filmmakers, volunteers, and audience are of prime concern," festival officials said. "This pandemic has created a challenge for anyone planning an event that draws people together in crowds, and we did not feel it was appropriate or wise to host this event in the current uncertain conditions."
Deadlines for film submissions have also been moved further into the fall, so filmmakers now have additional time to submit films to the festival for consideration for the 2020 festival. Details of how to submit a film, deadlines, and other helpful information for both filmmakers and audience members can be found at the festival's web site, iberiafilmfestival.com.
"We look forward to seeing great films from our creative community, and to our audience enjoying them on November 14," festival organizers said. "We'll see you in the fall!"
